Objectives of the Youth Commission
The objectives of the Youth CSET are meant to advance the work of the UN MGCY Youth Science-Policy Interface Platform, as it relates to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development:
Engagement:

Provide an open platform for youth organizations and practitioners to engage in science-policy discussions on the role of data, science, technology, engineering, & innovation to achieve the SDGs and affiliated intergovernmental processes within the UN system (DRR, SCP, SIDS, FFD, Goal 14, WUF, COP 23)

Bring together a diverse group of youth from various backgrounds, experiences, and regions to formulate positions that will be communicated at high-level forums with member states, governmental officials, UN agencies, civil society members, private sector, and Major Groups & other stakeholders

Facilitate communication, access to information, and progress reporting on the implementation, follow-up, and review of the 2030 Agenda.

Increasing policy coherence and synergy across sustainable development agendas towards appropriate national S&T roadmaps for the implementation of the SDGs
